I saw a documentary a while back on Holland during the Occupation. There was some old archive footage of a wedding or birthday party going on in the street and Anne can be seen gazing out of an upstairs window at the festivities. It was quite chilling to see because she was smiling and enjoying looking at what was going on but we, the viewer, knew what fate was in store for this tragic girl and countless others. Very sad.

I have that footage on a documantary, 'The Short Life of Anne Frank', that I bought when I had my first visit to the Anne Frank House.

You can actually see her say: 'Look, the film me!'

In America, you can get that footage on a documentary called, Anne Frank Remembered. It includes some great interviews with Meip Gies as well.

Neat idea. She essentially became a new person in hiding, both inside and out, in all probablity. I wonder if it's possible to capture that somehow, in an age-progression?
