I wonder if anyone here fought in the war or has relatives that did. Both of my grandpas were drafted, but only one said he went Over There (to Europe). That one made parachutes and supported paratroopers, but he went across the English Channel shortly after D-Day with the rest of the Hell Hawks (I think), and they located at various spots behind the front lines that airplanes could take off from (the Hell Hawks were a fighter group and flew airplanes).
